Trust

Editorial Standards

Accuracy, transparency and clear sourcing are the product.

Accuracy

We publish what we can verify. Where a detail is unconfirmed, we say so plainly rather than implying certainty. Financial terms are reported only when they are disclosed or confirmed by a party to the agreement.

Sourcing

When we report information first published by another outlet, we credit and link that outlet at the top of the story and in the source list at the bottom. We do not republish other publications' articles in full.

Labeling

Every story carries a label so its nature is never ambiguous:

  • Breaking — developing news, updated as we learn more.
  • News — straightforward reporting of a confirmed development.
  • Reported — sourced reporting aggregating confirmed details.
  • Exclusive — original reporting published here first.
  • Analysis — factual interpretation of what a development means.
  • Opinion — the argument of the named writer.
  • Sponsored — paid content, produced outside the newsroom.

Sponsored content

Sponsored stories are visually labeled, carry a disclosure at the top of the page, and are never presented as newsroom reporting. Advertisers have no influence over editorial coverage.

Corrections and updates

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say what changed. Corrections and substantive updates appear as a dated note on the story itself — we do not quietly edit published articles. To flag an error, contact us.

Rankings

Every Name Image Likeness ranking publishes its methodology. We do not estimate an athlete's NIL value in dollars, and we do not sell placement on any list.

Ownership and conflicts

Name Image Likeness is an independent NIL media platform owned and operated by Wavelength.

Wavelength is an athlete representation agency. Coverage involving a Wavelength client is disclosed in the story. Ownership does not influence which athletes, brands or agencies we cover, or how.

Sample content

During development, demonstration stories are clearly marked as sample content. Sample material is never presented as real reporting.
